GTM Intelligence Loop Framework

The Questions Your Intelligence Loops Should Always Be Asking

Feedback loops become intelligence loops when they run permanently and are built around the right questions. These aren't one-time diagnostics or quarterly check-ins — they run on a consistent cadence, they connect to decisions, and they get sharper as your company scales.

Feedback loops vs. intelligence loops: There's an important distinction worth making. Feedback loops are reactive — we've been conditioned to think of feedback as something given immediately in response to a specific action or event. Intelligence loops are different. They represent a constant monitoring stance, running whether anything has visibly changed or not, because in a complex organization the most important signals are often the ones that arrive before anything has broken. That shift in intent is the difference between a team that reacts and a team that anticipates.

When to start: Before you think you need to. The speed of early-stage building makes intelligence an afterthought — something teams return to when things have visibly broken, rather than something running constantly underneath the work. But the signals are there — even if you aren't paying attention. Before PMF, they live almost entirely in sales conversations — whether the problem lands, whether the language resonates, whether someone would actually pay and what they would pay. That's the intelligence loop at its most raw and unstructured. The table below gives it form. The monitoring stance has to start long before that.
